Countdown
Answers “how long until the target?” Use it for launches, deadlines, and anniversaries.
Target: Product launch · D+12
Guide · 7 chapters
Follow one real path through the app: create, read, receive reminders, and look back—without a feature checklist.
A READING PATH
Record one thing. See where it belongs.
Name what you want to remember, then let its dates place it on the timeline.
Use a short title you can recognize on the timeline, and add a note when context helps.
Use one-time for a single occurrence; choose a repeat for an interval or a set of times.
Countdown uses a target; countup uses a start; a progress event uses a start and an end.
Add an icon, tag, pin, or reminder when useful. None of them changes the event’s core dates.
These are three answers to how time is moving, not three cosmetic styles.
Answers “how long until the target?” Use it for launches, deadlines, and anniversaries.

Answers “how long since it began?” Without an end date, it keeps counting.
Started: Morning reading · D−43
Answers “how far through this span?” Progress is one-time and cannot repeat.
Range: Annual plan · about 68%
The timeline gives “next,” “underway,” and “behind you” their own place relative to today.
The nearest intersection is tomorrow or later. Future is ordered by the closest day first.
Events that happen, start, or still cover today. NOW does not add a redundant day count.
All intersections are before today. Completed and ended events share one past timeline, the nearest first.
Zones use calendar days while card status uses the exact time, so an event may briefly remain in NOW after it ends.
“Complete” means different things for one-time and repeating events. Check the scope before confirming.
This means the whole thing is done. Marking it complete yourself shows the “Completed” state.
Record this occurrence only; the mark resets when the next occurrence begins.
Confirming this ends the series; no future events or reminders are created.
An event that reaches its boundary without a manual action shows “Ended.” That is distinct from completion.
One moment can leave a trace in three places. Each surface has a different job.
iOS reminds you when the app is in the background, the phone is locked, or the app is terminated.
A short notice while you are using the app. Tap it to open the notification center.
Open the bell from Home or Settings to review delivered records and unread state.
The app does not ask on first launch. Permission is requested when you turn on a reminder for an event; after a denial, Settings can take you to system notification settings.
When the list grows, narrow the view first, then return to the event. Each organizing tool has its own boundary.
Titles and notes are searched by keyword, case-insensitive; title matches rank higher.
Choose both endpoints before searching. Both calendar days are included.
An event can have one current tag. Home’s tag filter affects Home only, not Search.
You can pin up to five events. Pinning adds a Home shortcut without moving the timeline card.
